This painting is a nod to the Tony Orlando & Dawn song "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree", from 1973.
In my version of the story, the soldier has come home, but the yellow ribbon was left tied around the tree as a sweet reminder of the test of this couple's love. The ribbon has been there so long, birds have woven pieces of it into their nest!
Painted on two 8"" x 24"" x 1.5"" panels, meant to be hung side by side. Trees wrap around the sides of both panels. "
